Household Hazardous Waste Day

9 am – 1 pm
At Blackham School,
425 Thorme Street,
corner of Thorme
Street and Amsterdam Avenue
This free annual event is for Bridgeport residents to safely get
rid of their household hazardous waste.
Pack your
trunk with all materials; bring your CT Drivers License to show
your Bridgeport home address; drive in through Thorme Street
from Madison Avenue; stay in line to go around Amsterdam Avenue
to School entrance. You do not need to get out of your
vehicle. A
hazardous waste team
will check your contents, direct you in line and they will empty
your vehicle.Residents should bring items in their original
containers, placed in a cardboard box in the trunk of their
car.

* Bring waste in its original
containers whenever possible
* Do not mix different products
* Put your waste into cardboard boxes, then place in your trunk
* Stay in your vehicle; the hazardous waste team will handle
everything
* Please, no smoking in your car; hazardous wastes are
flammable.
* Bring something to read, the wait is at most 5-15 minutes
