The City of
Bridgeport’s Roadway Division picks up leaves,
brush, branches and grass clippings year-round
from resident’s curb-side on your street’s
designated recycling day. The pick-up schedule
is weather permitting. Occasionally crews can
fall behind schedule because of weather or
personnel constraints, and resident’s patience
is urged.
Leaves,
brush and grass-clippings are to be placed in
brown paper recyclable bags. No plastic bags.
Branches should be no more than 4 feet in length
and tied in twine.
Between November
21 and December 16, 2011, residents can also rake
leaves onto the grassy area between the sidewalk
and curb for pick-up.
Residents
can also bring these materials to the City of
Bridgeport’s Transfer Station located at 475
Asylum Street, Monday-Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm and
Saturday 7 am -12 pm. Any large amounts of brush
should be brought to the transfer-station.
The city
promotes house-hold composting of
grass-clippings. For more information on
composting,
