Bridgeport In The Know

                   City of Bridgeport’s Pick-Up of

Leaves, Brush, Branches & Grass Clippings

The City of Bridgeport’s Roadway Division picks up leaves, brush, branches and grass clippings year-round from resident’s curb-side on your street’s designated recycling day. The pick-up schedule is weather permitting.  Occasionally crews can fall behind schedule because of weather or personnel constraints, and resident’s patience is urged.

Leaves, brush and grass-clippings are to be placed in brown paper recyclable bags. No plastic bags. Branches should be tied in twine and broken down.

Residents can also bring these materials to the City of Bridgeport’s Transfer Station located at 475 Asylum Street, Monday-Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm and Saturday 7 am -12 pm. Any large amounts of brush should be brought to the transfer-station.

The city promotes house-hold composting of grass-clippings. For more information on composting, click here to go to this CT DEP link.

To find out the recycling pick-up schedule for your street, contact the Recycling Dept. at 576-7753.

For more information on garden debris pick-up, contact the Roadway Division at 576-7124.
